Frequently asked questions
How often does DeltaWatch check my pages?
Check intervals depend on your plan. The free Ping plan checks every 3 hours. Pulse checks hourly, and Sentinel supports intervals as low as every 5 minutes. You can set a different interval per watch.
What’s the maximum PDF size?
DeltaWatch supports PDF monitoring for files up to 20 MB. Text is extracted automatically and compared between snapshots just like any other content type. No special configuration is needed — just add the PDF URL.
Can I monitor API endpoints?
Yes. DeltaWatch can monitor any URL that returns content, including JSON and XML API endpoints. Use JSONPath selectors to target specific fields, and set conditions to filter for meaningful changes.
How long is snapshot history retained?
Snapshot retention depends on your plan. Ping shows the last 10 snapshots per watch (stores up to 200), Pulse shows 50 (stores up to 500), and Sentinel has unlimited visibility and storage. If you upgrade, your stored history becomes visible again. Nothing is deleted on downgrade.
Can I import from other monitoring tools?
DeltaWatch supports six import formats: changedetection.io backup ZIP, DeltaWatch native backup, CSV, JSON, Distill.io export, and plain URL lists. Upload your file, review the preview, and confirm — watches, tags, snapshots, and settings are migrated automatically. See the import guide for details on each format.
What notification channels are supported?
DeltaWatch supports email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, and generic webhooks. Add notification URLs to the text box on any watch, tag, or in workspace settings. All channels are available on every plan, including the free tier.
Is there an API?
Yes. DeltaWatch provides a full REST API with interactive OpenAPI documentation at /api-docs. API key authentication is available on Pulse and Sentinel plans. Everything you can do in the UI is available programmatically.
What happens if I downgrade my plan?
Your watches and data are preserved. Watches beyond your new plan’s limit are marked as “billing restricted” — they stop checking but aren’t deleted. Check intervals are clamped to the plan minimum (3 hours on Ping). Snapshots beyond the visible limit are stored but hidden until you upgrade. If you upgrade again, restricted watches resume automatically and your original intervals are restored.
