Import
DeltaWatch supports importing from six sources. All imports show a preview before committing, so you can see exactly what will be created, skipped, or modified.
Supported formats
| Format | File type | What transfers |
|---|---|---|
| changedetection.io | ZIP | Watches, tags, snapshots, notification settings |
| DeltaWatch backup | ZIP | Full-fidelity restore of watches, tags, snapshots, metadata |
| CSV | .csv | URLs with optional title, interval, HTTP method |
| JSON | .json | Array of watch objects with full field mapping |
| Distill.io | .json | Watch URLs, titles, and configuration |
| URL list | .txt | One URL per line, created with workspace defaults |
Import from changedetection.io
If you’re switching from changedetection.io, you can bring everything with you.
What gets imported
- Watches — URLs, check intervals, titles, selectors, filters, and configuration.
- Tags — all tag assignments are preserved.
- Snapshots — your historical snapshot data transfers across with metadata records.
- Notification settings — channel configurations where compatible.
How to import
- In changedetection.io, go to Settings > Backup and download your backup ZIP file.
- In DeltaWatch, navigate to your workspace Settings > Import.
- Upload the ZIP file.
- Review the import preview — you’ll see a summary of what will be created and any intervals that will be clamped.
- Confirm the import.
The import runs in the background. Depending on the size of your backup, it may take a few minutes to complete.
Import DeltaWatch backup
Re-import a DeltaWatch export with full fidelity.
- Upload the
.zipfile exported from another DeltaWatch instance. - Review the preview — watches, tags, and snapshots are all shown.
- Confirm the import.
All watch configuration fields are restored via an explicit allowlist. Snapshot metadata records are preserved for cached diff summaries.
Import CSV
Bulk-create watches from a CSV file.
Format
Columns: url, title, interval, http_method. The header row is optional — if the first row contains valid column names, it’s used as headers; otherwise columns are positional.
url,title,interval,http_method
https://example.com/pricing,Pricing page,300,GET
https://api.example.com/status,API status,600,GET
How to import
- Navigate to Settings > Import and upload a
.csvfile. - Review the preview.
- Confirm the import.
Import JSON
Import an array of watch objects with full field mapping.
[
{
"url": "https://example.com/pricing",
"title": "Pricing page",
"checkInterval": 300,
"cssSelector": ".pricing-table"
}
]
Upload the .json file via Settings > Import, review the preview, and confirm.
Import from Distill.io
DeltaWatch can import structured JSON exports from Distill.io. Export your data from Distill, upload the JSON file in DeltaWatch, and your watches will be mapped automatically.
Import from URL list
Bulk-import watches from a plain text list of URLs — one URL per line.
https://example.com/page-1
https://example.com/page-2
https://api.example.com/status
- Navigate to Settings > Import.
- Paste your URLs or upload a text file.
- Set default check interval and notification preferences.
- Confirm the import.
All watches are created with the same default settings. You can customise individual watches afterwards.
Plan limits
All imports enforce your plan’s limits:
- Watch count — imports that would exceed your quota show a warning in the preview. Excess watches are marked as billing-restricted.
- Check intervals — intervals below your plan’s minimum are clamped automatically. The original interval is preserved so upgrades can restore it.
- Preview first — you always see the impact before committing.
After importing
- Review your imported watches to ensure everything looks correct.
- Update notification channels if needed — some channel types may require reconfiguration.
- Your first check cycle will run at the next scheduled interval.
