Notifications

DeltaWatch supports six notification channels. Configure them by adding notification URLs to the Notification URLs text box on the watch’s Notifications tab, in Tag settings, or in workspace Settings (for global defaults).

Each URL uses a protocol prefix to determine the channel. Add one URL per line.

How it works

Open a watch and go to the Notifications tab. In the Notification URLs text box, paste one or more URLs — one per line. The prefix determines the channel:

email://[email protected]
slack://hooks.slack.com/services/T.../B.../xxx
discord://discord.com/api/webhooks/id/token
telegram://BOT_TOKEN/CHAT_ID
teams://your-org.webhook.office.com/webhookb2/...
webhook://your-api.example.com/deltawatch

You can also set notification URLs at the Tag level (applied to all watches with that tag) or in workspace Settings (applied to all watches unless overridden).

Note: Secret-bearing values are redacted when loaded. Leave a redacted line unchanged to preserve it.

Email

No external setup required — just add an email:// URL with the recipient address.

email://[email protected]

You’ll receive change notifications with a summary of what changed and a link to the full diff.

Slack

Uses Slack’s incoming webhooks.

  1. In Slack, go to your workspace settings and create an Incoming Webhook.
  2. Choose the channel where notifications should be posted.
  3. Copy the webhook URL (starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/).
  4. In DeltaWatch, add it to Notification URLs with the slack:// prefix (replace https:// with slack://):
slack://hooks.slack.com/services/T.../B.../xxx

Discord

Uses Discord webhooks.

  1. In your Discord server, go to Server Settings > Integrations > Webhooks.
  2. Create a new webhook and select the target channel.
  3. Copy the webhook URL (starts with https://discord.com/api/webhooks/).
  4. In DeltaWatch, add it with the discord:// prefix:
discord://discord.com/api/webhooks/123456/abcdef

Telegram

Uses a Telegram bot.

  1. Message @BotFather on Telegram to create a new bot.
  2. Copy the bot token you receive.
  3. Add your bot to a group or start a direct conversation with it.
  4. Get the chat ID — you can use @userinfobot or the Telegram API.
  5. In DeltaWatch, add a notification URL combining the bot token and chat ID:
telegram://123456789:ABCdefGHIjklMNO/987654321

Format: telegram://BOT_TOKEN/CHAT_ID

Microsoft Teams

Uses Teams incoming webhooks.

  1. In Microsoft Teams, go to the target channel.
  2. Click Connectors (or Workflows depending on your Teams version) and add an Incoming Webhook.
  3. Name the webhook and copy the URL.
  4. In DeltaWatch, add it with the teams:// prefix:
teams://your-org.webhook.office.com/webhookb2/...

Generic Webhooks

Send change data to any HTTP endpoint. Useful for custom integrations, automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n), or your own services.

Add the URL with the webhook:// prefix:

webhook://your-api.example.com/deltawatch-changes

DeltaWatch will send a POST request with a JSON payload containing the watch details, change summary, and diff data.

Notification priority

When a change is detected, DeltaWatch resolves notification URLs in this order:

  1. Watch-level URLs — set on the individual watch
  2. Tag-level URLs — set on any tags assigned to the watch (combined from all tags)
  3. Workspace-level URLs — set in workspace Settings (global defaults)

If a watch has its own notification URLs, those are used. Tag and global URLs are added on top unless the tag has “Override watch notifications” enabled.

Muting

You can mute notifications for any individual watch by ticking Mute all notifications for this watch on the Notifications tab. The watch continues to check and record changes — it just doesn’t notify you.

Conditions

Conditions are configured on the watch’s Triggers tab, not on the notification URLs themselves. They control whether a notification is sent based on what changed:

  • Contains / does not contain — text matching
  • Equals / does not equal — exact value comparison
  • Greater than / less than — numeric comparisons on line counts or change percentage
  • Minimum change percentage — only alert when the page changes by more than a threshold

Conditions can be combined with AND/OR logic for complex filtering rules.
